At OPUS Health and Safety, are always the 1st items on our agenda at all our Director’s Management, Pre-Contract Planning and Project meetings on all our Contracts.
The company’s SHE record is consistently higher than the Industry benchmarks and
we are constantly reviewing our “Best Working Practices” via audit and control
procedures, to ensure the continual improvement of the Health, Welfare and Safety
of all our employees, any connected parties and project assets.
At the outset and prior to any works being undertaken, regardless of the size of the project,
OPUS will carry out a Contract review to ensure that we are fully compliant with current
legislation and client’s requirements, by ensuring that each employee is trained and experienced
for the tasks in hand, Toolbox Talks have been undertaken, ensuring that the job specific Risk
Assessments, Method Statements, COSHH Assessments, Site Inductions and Contract Plan has been
reviewed and understood by all affected parties.
OPUS also complies with and is members of:-
• British Safety Council
• ROSPA
• Contractors Health and Assessment Safety Scheme (CHAS)
• Safety Contractors Scheme
• IOSH Managing Safely (Approved Trainer)
OPUS operates a Scafftag system on all our Scaffolding Access.
Electrical Equipment is PAT tested and checked at regular intervals.
Pressurised Equipment is tested annually.
OPUS also operates a bespoke Rope Access Equipment Database to maintain
traceability of each piece of equipment and ensure that we comply with LOLER and
IRATA Regulations.
